I think so....my PM said that carpet will be going in this week.
My initial contract was to close on or around November 7th. They said that it would be ready to close on November 27th, but I asked them if we could delay closing until December because my husband doesn't come home from Afghanistan until December so I can’t move into the house until then. Since we are closing in December our first mortgage payment won't be due until February...so we get a month of no rent no mortgage (January), but if we would have closed in November, we wouldn’t have be able to reap that benefit because I’d still be living in our rental until December and then we’d have to pay the first mortgage in January.
I’m so excited…I’m counting down to his return and the closing on the house!
Your home is coming along nicely. I love the kitchen layout and the dark color cabinets. I really wanted dark cabinets like that but my husband doesn't like dark cabinets. You're going to be reunited with your husband pretty soon and in your new home!!!
Luckily, my husband likes dark cabinets as well. We ran into problems with the flooring though; I wanted dark floors to match my cabinets, but he felt that would be TOO dark especially because our furniture is from that same color family so I had to compromise and select the lighter color wood floors.
Yes, I can’t wait for him to come home….I wish he could live in the house with us…but I guess weekends, holidays, and vacations days will have to do for the next 18 months….
Wow, Nicole.....time does fly! Your house has come a long way in such a short time. You are building the new Rome 5 which allows for the new placement of the double ovens. In your picture, is that the oven you were requesting? They are really cute. They have that modern, contemporary edge to them. We had a different style to choose from in our appliance packages. It seem like as soon as we began to build they switch to updated styles. :-( I wanted the ORB package which looks lovely in your home. I am getting ready to do the first floor and make my way through the house.
MAJOR SCORE with getting them to change your closing date to December? Do you have a date for closing yet and clear to close letter? I gave our rental office a 60 day notice they required and moved out 30 days before hand to allow moving to run smoothly. The extra 30 days allowed us to move in at our own pace. Of course, we stayed at the new house during the process. lol
No, the oven in the picture above is the Ryan's replacement (new standard) for the discontinue oven. I one that they have agreed to give me looks exactly the same as the one pictured above but it has more features. The one I'm getting has convection and conventional capabilities in both ovens. The correct oven should be inserted sometime this week, but I won't take any new picture since the exterior looks practically the same.
Yes, my closing date was scheduled as soon as they agreed to delay it until December. I (We) will be closing on December 9th at 10 am. We live in military housing so I've given notice and just have to wait for the dates.....as well as my husband's return!
